Award Presented by the Academy of Athens to the Holy Metropolis of Singapore and South Asia

On Tuesday, 22 December 2015, the Academy of Athens honored the Holy Metropolis of Singapore and South Asia with the “Photini Kounadi-Katsareli Memorial Award,” recognizing in this way the “exemplary missionary, social, charitable, and educational work carried out with genuine self-sacrifice under difficult circumstances” in Southeast Asia.

This honorary distinction belongs to all those who work with zeal and bear witness to the Orthodox Church in the countries of the Far East and South Asia. This distinction also belongs to all those who have helped and continue to support the Holy Metropolis of Singapore and South Asia in its efforts to meet the demands, challenges, and difficulties of its missionary and charitable work.
