The event was opened by the President of the Foundation, Mr. Nikolaos Iliopoulos. Referring to missionary work, he emphasized, among other things, that:
“Our understanding of Mission cannot mean anything less than the harmonization of our hearts with Jesus Christ, so that we may truly experience the words ‘to abide in Christ,’ which means that our entire existence is rooted in the depths of His love. And precisely here lies the true motivation of Mission.”
A presentation was given on the Orthodox missionary work of the Holy Metropolis of Korea by His Eminence Metropolitan Ambrosios of Korea and Exarch of Japan.
The event was concluded by the Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Athens, Archimandrite Symeon Voliotis, as the representative of His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, who conveyed his prayers and blessings. He praised the person of Fr. Ambrosios, referring to the arduous and multifaceted missionary work being carried out by him in the Holy Metropolis of Korea.
